Who Should be on a Bid Committee

At least 3 people

More people for higher value purchases (> $20,000) or more complex purchases (e.g. building a new building).  In these cases at least 5 people.

1 each from:

1. Finance,
2. Administration, or some other reliable party who is not from the requesting department or from purchasing,
3. Senior Management

The purchasing officer and the requester or someone from the requester’s department should also be present at the meeting to advise decision makers, but they will not vote.
