S&S Planning: Implementation Options

The assistance delivery method influences the quality, timing, scale of delivery and cost. It is possible to select a combination of implementation options based on an understanding of local markets, including commodity, labor and rental markets, in support of economic recovery.  Consider the impact of the selected implementation options on the degree of participation and sense of ownership, gender dynamics, social cohesion and livelihood opportunities [adapted from Sphere Handbook 2018].

Quality Assurance
Involves improving quality and safety of shelter and settlement by helping choosing accommodation, design, site layout, materials, and supervising the construction works.

Note: the type of technical assistance will depend on the assistance options identified.  For example, supporting an urban planning or zoning will imply a different technical support to the relevant stakeholder.
