A Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) is a satellite communications system that can transmit voice and data signals through a satellite. A VSAT consists of two parts, a transceiver (Dish) that is placed outdoors and a device that is placed indoors to interface with the users’ communication device, such as a laptop. A VSAT dish generally ranges from 75 to 1.2 cm but can be up to 3m in diameter. A VSAT can handle up to 56 Kbps.
